The Shaw Method of swimming was developed by Steven Shaw in the late 1980s. Steven, an experienced swimmer, used what he was learning in his training as an Alexander Technique teacher to create an easier and more effective way train swimmers and non-swimmers alike to swim with greater ease and enjoyment.
In the decades since then, thousands of people have learnt to swim or have transformed their swimming technique through this unique approach, developing greater balance in the water, greater freedom of movement, all whilst minimising their risk of strain or injury.
Simon has been a keen swimmer since childhood and travelled from Sydney to the UK to train as a Shaw Method teacher in 2018-19. He now teaches in Sydney and particularly enjoys helping adults discover or rediscover the joy of being at one with the water, of eliminating the strain ad anxiety, and embarking on a journey of continuous discovery and improvement.
